The Story
On this day, the Treta Yuga began. Sudama visited his childhood friend Krishna with a humble gift of beaten rice (poha) and was blessed with immense wealth. Goddess Annapurna was born. Vyasa began writing the Mahabharata.

Purchasing gold is considered highly auspicious. New ventures, investments, and marriages are initiated. Charitable giving is emphasized. Visiting temples and performing special pujas.
