Devi's Insight · What few people know
She sprang from the Goddess's own brow
When the demons Chanda and Munda advanced, the face of the Goddess darkened with anger, and from her furrowed brow emerged Kali. She destroyed them and was honoured with the name Chamunda. In the next battle she drank the blood of Raktabija so that no new demons could rise from it. Her fierceness is protection.
